HPV Prevention Week

HPV Prevention Week

Us vs HPV is a one-week series of webinars, social media campaigns, local events and more to promote awareness about HPV and HPV-related diseases. Organized by the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and Global Initiative Against HPV and Cervical Cancer (GIAHC), with support from numerous medical associations and institutions nationally and internationally. 2026 represents the 8th Annual HPV Prevention Week.

HPV and Cancer Prevention

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the leading cause of cervical cancer and contributes to other forms of cancer that affect millions globally. The good news? These cancers are preventable with vaccination, early detection, and education. HPV Prevention Week brings global experts together to spotlight the latest research and strategies for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Ending Cervical Cancer In Our Lifetime

“Never in the course of history has mankind been able to eradicate cancer. But now, with the World Health Organization’s global strategy to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer, this future will most likely be seen in our lifetime.”

–American Medical Women’s Association
