GLOBAL HEALTH

AMWA is associated with the United Nations (UN) Department of Global Communications (DGC) and participates in the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). PREVENTIVE MEDICINE

AMWA’s focus on preventive medicine includes promoting sleep as the foundation of health and initiatives that focus on vaccination, drug safetysenior health, nutrition, and healthy eating.

PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES

AMWA helps address timely public health issues like gun violencehuman trafficking, obesityopioid addictionalcohol use, climate change, and caregiving. We’re working to address social determinants of health to improve patient care.

SEX AND GENDER SPECIFIC HEALTH

AMWA is a leading advocate for the teaching and practice of sex and gender specific healthcare through the Sex and Gender Health Collaborative. We have co-lead a series of summits and partnered with iGIANT® to raise awareness across sectors.
