Physician Well-Being & Life Transitions

Physician well-being and life transitions are not one-size-fits-all, and the path through medicine differs for each individual. AMWA advances physician well-being by advocating for workplace flexibility, self-care, and policies that mitigate burnout, while promoting strategies to improve work–life integration. Through programs and resources that support family-building, fertility, caregiving, and returning to practice after time away, AMWA also fosters peer and professional coaching and community connection. By championing these changes, AMWA helps build a healthier, more sustainable future for physicians—and offers a platform for change at both the local and national levels.
