AMWA EVOLVE Faculty Program
The AMWA EVOLVE Faculty Leadership Program complements the AMWA EVOLVE Certificate in Leadership Program for women trainees. This innovative program is tailored to address the specific challenges often encountered during residency and fellowship. The Faculty Program empowers program directors, staff, attending physicians, and chief residents to reinforce and enhance the core leadership competencies that trainees are developing.
The program features an on-line curriculum along with three 90-minute group coaching sessions.
These sessions will cover essential skills and insights from the EVOLVE resident curriculum and address common challenges, such as generational gaps, prioritizing responsibilities, maintaining relationships, and other localized needs.
You’ll have the opportunity to practice coaching tools to support your residents and fellows in their growth as physicians, while also applying these skills to enhance your own personal and professional development.

Innovative Program Elements
Session 1:
We will introduce the first three EVOLVE topics (“What is Your Why”, “Identifying and Applying Strengths”, and “Authentic Leadership”), assess what would be helpful for you as a group to focus on over the sessions, and practice communication with residents using a coaching hat.
Session 2:
We will continue to explore ways to connect with your trainees across the generations as you guide them in their professional development. The topics of Microaggressions/Bias and Difficult Conversations that the residents and fellows are discussing in January and February will be a focus.
Session 3:
As we conclude the program, we will highlight the essential skills of Giving and Receiving Feedback and Negotiation. Opportunities to use these arise daily, not just on an annual basis.
