The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) announces an expansion of its Brain Health Education Hub, a vital new initiative aimed at improving women’s health outcomes through accessible, evidence-based content. This resource fulfills AMWA’s broader mission to advance women’s health across the lifespan by providing tools to raise awareness of current advances in care for physicians, medical students,  and patients. Elevating awareness of Alzheimer’s disease will help to reinforce our commitment to ensuring that women receive the highest standard of care, especially in areas that are often overlooked and relevant to women’s health.

The educational fact sheets and infographics explore a range of critical topics, including the cognitive impacts of aging and menopause, the connection between lifestyle, environmental factors, and chronic disease on dementia, the challenges of caregiving, and future possibilities of AI in dementia care. These resources also address the urgent need to recognize sex and gender differences in dementia, specifically Alzheimer’s disease, to support patient-centered care for a condition that disproportionately affects women.
