The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) launches the Osteoporosis Education Hub, an online resource to support clinicians and raise awareness among patients and advocates. Our goal is to encourage prevention, diagnosis, and management of osteoporosis with a focus on fracture risk in women.
Developed as part of AMWA’s commitment to women’s health, this clinical hub offers evidence-based resources, including:
- Understanding Risk Factors: Information on age, gender, lifestyle, and medical conditions that contribute to osteoporosis
- Screening & Diagnosis: Guidelines and tools for early detection, including bone density testing
- Lifestyle medicine: Practical tips on nutrition, exercise, and fall prevention
- Trainee Resources: Content for self-guided learning.
- Patient Education: Shareable resources to support informed decision-making
- Health Equity in Bone Health: Addressing disparities in diagnosis and care
- Patient Journey. Insights from a patient diagnosed with early-onset osteoporosis
