AMWA Leaders Dr. Mary Rorro and Dr. Gilda Rorro were honored to attend the White House Italian American Heritage Reception on October 16, 2024. At the event they had the opportunity to meet Mariangela Zappia, Ambassador of Italy to the United States. She is the first woman to assume the role of Italian Ambassador to Washington. Dr. Mary Rorro also photographed had the opportunity to meet with the conductor and pianist of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Corps Band, who (along with a violinist) accompanied her as she performed her original song “L’Italia!” at The White House.
