In recognition of STI Awareness Month this April, the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) has launched a new educational campaign aimed at equipping clinicians with up-to-date knowledge and tools to improve care of sexually transmitted infections (STI). The initiative, titled “Sexually Transmitted Infections: A Clinician’s Guide to Advances in Care,” offers an on-demand webinar that addresses advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of STIs.

Developed in collaboration with expert contributors, the webinar highlights recent advancements in STI science, including screening updates, antimicrobial resistance, and approaches to culturally responsive care. With particular attention to gender and health equity, the campaign underscores the importance of reducing stigma and increasing access to high-quality sexual health services.

As STI rates continue to climb across the U.S., AMWA’s initiative serves as a timely call to action for healthcare providers to stay informed and proactive. The campaign also reinforces AMWA’s longstanding commitment to women’s health and public health education.
