Congratulations to the class of 2025!
AMWA awards the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement to women who graduate in the top ten percent of their medical school graduating classes. AMWA also awards a separate Certificate of Commendation for any woman who graduates first in her medical school class.
The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) continues its tradition of recognizing excellence in medical education by presenting the esteemed Glasgow-Rubin Awards to outstanding women graduating in the top 10% of their medical school class. In 2025, a total of 512 exceptional women across 48 participating medical schools received this honor, celebrating their dedication, intellect, and resilience in the field of medicine.
Among this distinguished group, 43 women have achieved the highest academic distinction by placing first in their class, a testament to their commitment to academic excellence and their future contributions to healthcare. These awards not only acknowledge individual achievements but also highlight the progress of women in medicine, reinforcing AMWA’s mission to advance women physicians and improving the health of women.
The Glasgow-Rubin Awards will be presented during each recipient’s graduation ceremony, where they will be honored for their accomplishments before embarking on their medical careers. This recognition serves as an inspiration for aspiring female physicians, celebrating their hard-earned success and the profound impact they will have on the future of medicine. As AMWA continues to support and empower women in the medical field, the Glasgow-Rubin Awards stand as a beacon of achievement, honoring those who have excelled and paving the way for future generations of women in medicine.
