AWHS supports overseas clinics that provide care to rural and urban underserved populations. Read more about our supported clinics below. To apply for an AWHS clinic grant please review our clinic grant application. Application due date is July 30 every year. To complete the application, you will need a program proposal, a budget, the financial statement for the most recent year, articles of incorporation or trust instruments (including amendments), and names and titles of the board of directors.
Engeye Clinic
Founded by AMWA member, Dr. Stephanie Van Dyke, Engeye is a 501(c)3 non-profit that works to improve the lives of Ugandans through its affordable health clinic in Ddegeya Village, Uganda. Engeye also operates a scholarship program to empower the next generation of Ugandans. Founded in 2006, the clinic now sees approximately 15,000 patients per year.
San Antonio Refugee Health Clinic
SARHC is an acute care clinic developed to address the health and social needs of about 5,000 immigrant refugees living in northwest San Antonio. The primary goal of this clinic is to serve as an initial trustworthy location for refugees to overcome their inhibitions and adequately address their health care issues and social needs.
