AWMWA physician awards below are open for nominations every year in June. We invite you to explore our award categories, learn about past recipients, and consider nominating a deserving colleague, as we continue to champion those who shape the future of medicine.
All general award nominations require: 1) Three completed nomination form submissions (from three different nominators) 2) Nominee’s curriculum vitae or resume 3) Nominee’s brief biosketch Note: Self nominations are not accepted and current AMWA staff and members of the AMWA Board of Directors may not be nominated. If more than 3 nomination forms are submitted for one nominee, only the first 3 will be considered. Only completed nomination submissions may be considered.
Nominations that address the nominee’s achievements, impact (especially in alignment with the objectives of the specific award) and how the achievements and contributions advance AMWA’s mission, vision, and values are the most competitive. Please note AMWA awards are highly competitive, and it is not recommended that the nominee knows about their nomination.
Exceptional Mentor awards are also open for nomination. Exceptional mentorship is one of the most enduring forces shaping the future of medicine, fostering professional growth, confidence, resilience, and a commitment to excellence in others. This award recognizes individuals whose extraordinary dedication to mentoring has meaningfully influenced the careers, leadership development, and personal growth of colleagues, trainees, or peers, creating a lasting impact that extends far beyond a single generation.
