This October, AMWA is proud to recognize and support the international medical graduate (IMG) community with a series of virtual programs designed to provide practical guidance, mentorship, and connection throughout the residency journey.
Beginning ahead of IMG Recognition Week, October 19–23, and continuing into November, these programs bring together experienced physicians, leaders, and trainees to share insights on navigating the residency application process, succeeding during training, and building a fulfilling career in medicine.
All events are virtual and held from 8–9 PM ET.
October 6 — Residency Ready: IMG Success Panel
Hear directly from those who have successfully navigated the residency process and gain practical strategies for strengthening your path to residency.
October 15 — From Application to Graduation: An IMG Roadmap to Residency Success
Explore the IMG journey from applying and interviewing to navigating residency and successfully completing training.
October 20 — IMG Recognition Week: A Conversation with ACP President-elect Dr. Saba Hasan
Join AMWA for a special IMG Recognition Week conversation with Dr. Saba Hasan, ACP President-elect, highlighting the experiences, contributions, and leadership of IMGs in medicine.
November 12 — IMG Insights: Residency Preparation Session
Gain practical guidance and insights to help prepare for residency and the next stage of your medical career.
