The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the AMWA Inspire Award, an annual recognition that honors women physicians whose leadership, mentorship, and dedication leave a lasting impact on medicine and the people around them.
The award celebrates physicians who lead not only through achievement, but through the ways they encourage others, foster growth, advocate for patients and colleagues, and help shape a more supportive and equitable medical community. Across specialties and career stages, Inspire Award recipients reflect the many ways women physicians influence healthcare, education, research, advocacy, and professional culture.
Each year, nominations come from peers, collaborators, and mentors who wish to recognize someone whose guidance or example has made a meaningful difference in their lives or careers. The award highlights the importance of lifting others as we advance together in medicine.
AMWA encourages nominations of women physicians whose work demonstrates compassion, integrity, vision, service, and commitment to advancing women in medicine and improving the health of women. Nominees do not need to be AMWA members to be considered. Deadline June 23, 2026.
INSPIRE Award honorees will be recognized during Women in Medicine Month, as part of AMWA’s ongoing efforts to celebrate and elevate the contributions of women physicians nationwide.
