The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) is excited to announce that the 112th Annual Meeting will take place March 11–14, 2027, in the Washington, D.C. area, bringing together women physicians, trainees, researchers, and advocates from across the country for four days of education, leadership, networking, and advocacy.
This year’s theme, Thriving, Leading, Transforming: Women Physicians as Advocates and Changemakers, reflects AMWA’s commitment to equipping women physicians at every stage of their careers to lead with purpose, advocate for patients and colleagues, and drive meaningful change in healthcare.
The meeting will begin on Thursday, March 11, with Advocacy Day on the Hill, giving attendees the opportunity to meet directly with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for policies that advance women physicians and improve the health of women. Advocacy Day has long been one of AMWA’s signature experiences, empowering physicians and trainees to translate their expertise into action and ensure that the voices of women in medicine are heard where healthcare policy is made.
From March 12–14, attendees will enjoy a dynamic program featuring nationally recognized speakers, interactive workshops, clinical education, leadership development, networking opportunities, poster presentations, and special programming for medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians.
Call for Speakers Now Open
AMWA is now accepting proposals for educational sessions for the 2027 Annual Meeting. Members and subject matter experts are encouraged to submit innovative presentations that inspire attendees, advance clinical excellence, foster leadership, and promote advocacy. Proposed sessions may include workshops, breakout sessions, and timely discussions on emerging issues in medicine and women’s health.
Poster Abstract Submissions Open
Researchers, educators, trainees, and physicians are also invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations. AMWA welcomes submissions showcasing original research, quality improvement initiatives, innovative educational programs, and compelling clinical cases that align with this year’s theme of Thriving, Leading, Transforming: Women Physicians as Advocates and Changemakers. Poster presentations provide an outstanding opportunity to share scholarship, exchange ideas, and highlight work that advances women in medicine and improves patient care.
Whether you are an experienced leader, an early-career physician, or a student just beginning your journey in medicine, the 2027 Annual Meeting offers opportunities to learn, connect, and be inspired by a community dedicated to advancing women physicians and improving the health of women.
