The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) was pleased to participate in a recent networking reception hosted by Center Road Solutions, celebrating the organization’s rebrand and continued evolution as a leader in bipartisan advocacy.
Founded by attorney and seasoned lobbyist Katrina Velazquez, Center Road has established itself as a premier woman-owned public policy firm dedicated to helping mission-driven organizations achieve meaningful policy change. Their work—spanning women’s health, children’s welfare, mental health, and healthcare access—closely aligns with AMWA’s mission to advance women physicians and improve the health of women.
The reception brought together leaders across sectors to mark Center Road’s new visual identity, which reflects a more nuanced and human-centered approach to policy and advocacy. As Katrina shared:
“We’ve moved beyond red and blue because politics isn’t just two flat colors; it’s a million different shades. We color outside the lines because that is where creative, lasting strategy is born.”
She also underscored the values that have guided the firm’s success:
“We’ve succeeded because we choose to see everyone—regardless of party—as human beings who deep down want to do good. That shared humanity is our foundation.”
These principles strongly resonate with AMWA’s approach to advocacy—particularly in complex and often polarized areas of healthcare policy, where empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based solutions are essential.
Center Road supported AMWA’s Advocacy Day training in 2025, helping to equip physician leaders with the tools to engage effectively in bipartisan policy discussions. The firm will continue this partnership in 2026, further strengthening AMWA’s efforts to advance priorities in women’s health, reproductive care, and health equity.
Together, AMWA and Center Road are committed to building bridges, elevating shared values, and driving meaningful change for patients and providers alike.
