MCAT Scholarship
AMWA is offering three scholarships to cover the complete cost of MCAT registration ($325 each). AMWA is well aware of the prohibitive costs associated with registering and preparing for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). As this year continues to be rife with hardship for so many Americans, we believe that the cost of the MCAT exam should not be an added obstacle that premedical students must overcome to realize their career goals. The MCAT Scholarship will be awarded to a low-income and URM student.
Premedical Education Scholarship
AMWA understands that your journey in medicine begins before medical school and that this journey can be expensive. Supporting your career path and ensuring your success is important to us, so we are offering two $250 scholarships to women currently enrolled in undergraduate or post-baccalaureate pre-medical coursework who intend to pursue medical school. Awardees will be chosen based on the embodiment of the goals of AMWA. Financial need, though not a requirement, is also considered.
Please note that the applicant must have someone fill out the letter of recommendation form, which is included in the application.
Medical School Application Scholarship
AMWA understands that medical school application fees can constitute a significant financial burden on students, and as a result, may deter them from applying to certain medical programs. In an effort to relieve students of the financial burden that medical school applications may cause, the Premedical Division of AMWA is offering a Medical School Application Scholarship. Please note that this scholarship may only fund 1-2 schools, not your entire medical school application.
Eliza Lo Chin Scholarship (For National Leaders)
This annual award is presented to a Premedical or Medical Student Division leader—nominated by her fellow AMWA National leaders—who makes substantial, yet unrecognized, contributions to AMWA.
To be eligible for the award, the awardee must be present at AMWA’s Annual Meeting. The award recipient will be announced during Student Elections and will receive $200.
