Branch and Regional Grants

In addition to the Member Awards & Scholarships available for individual members, the AMWA Student Division offers funding for student branches and regions.

Heller Outstanding Branch Award

Application Cycle: August 31, 2025 – November 30, 2025

This award is given to recognize the AMWA student branch that has made exceptional strides in their activities for the year, including recruitment efforts, service projects, and professional activities. A grant of $250 will be awarded to further branch efforts and programming. Branch presidents may self-nominate their local AMWA branches.

Applications are accepted for the upcoming year between August 1st – November 30th.  Email applications to [email protected]. All applicants will receive an email notification of the receipt of their application. Awards will be announced at the upcoming Annual Meeting.

Regional Event Grants

Application Cycle 1: July 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025

Each Regional Director may apply for one $500 Regional Event Grant each year. Up to 5 (five) grants will be given nationally per year. The grant money is to be used solely by Regional Directors to assist in funding region-wide events designed to bring together student leadership or general AMWA membership from the region for networking, fellowship, education, and/or advocacy purposes. Each grant is to be used during the year it is awarded. Each Regional Director may receive only one grant during her year-long term.

Applications are accepted from July 1 – December 31. Email completed applications and supplemental materials to [email protected]. All applicants will receive an email notification of the receipt of their application. There is rolling acceptance for undistributed grants during each application cycle.  After the application cycle ends, you can still email us to inquire if there are any remaining awards.

Applicants will be notified of the panel’s decision by email within three weeks after the application cycle’s deadline. Please reach out to [email protected] for early review of your application if your event will be held before the deadline.

Regional Event Raffles

Regional Raffles: Each AMWA Medical Student Regional Conference is eligible for scholarships to be raffled. For more information, please contact the External Relations Chair at least 2-weeks before the event. The below raffles are for the 2022-2023 term. Information will be updated as annual contracts are confirmed.
