The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) applauds the court’s decision to issue a preliminary injunction halting recent actions and the implementation of unscientific and harmful vaccine policies under Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F Kennedy Jr.
AMWA, along with many other medical groups, joined an amicus brief in support of the lawsuit brought by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), et al. against the Department of Health and Human Services and Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
In issuing the preliminary injunction, the court found that the plaintiffs raised serious concerns regarding whether federal advisory processes were followed appropriately, and it temporarily stayed the ACIP appointments and related actions while the case proceeds.
The upcoming ACIP meeting has been postponed following this decision.
AMWA supports this action and continues to advocate for strong, evidence-based public health measures, including vaccination, to keep our communities healthy.
