AMWA’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee guides AMWA leadership in developing and implementing strategies to increase, enhance, and sustain diversity and inclusion within the organization. Serving as the primary advisory body to the Board of Directors, as well as AMWA’s chapters and affinity partners, the council ensures that AMWA’s mission reflects a commitment to inclusivity at all levels.
AMWA strives to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion into every aspect of our work—from our membership and leadership representation to the impact of our initiatives, programming, and resources. We are committed to fostering a culture where inclusivity is reflected in all that we do.
We recognize, respect, and embrace the rich diversity within our membership, which includes individuals at all career stages, across medical specialties, and with varied backgrounds in age, culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, political affiliation, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and lived experiences. Our goal is to cultivate an environment where all members feel valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully to AMWA’s mission.

Diversity Dialogues Podcast
AMWA Diversity Dialogues is an interdisciplinary podcast that is designed to promote diversity of thought through unfiltered and honest conversations about all topics related to diversity and inclusion, that highlight the disparities and inequities in medicine and population health and what we can do about it.
